As a competitive athlete, Shannon has a unique understanding of what athletes go through on a day to day basis, including both the physical and psychological aspects of experiencing an injury and returning to sport. Using a client-centered approach, she looks forward to applying her skill set to optimize the performance of athletes and individuals of all levels from the community.
Kennedy received her Master’s in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta, where she was a three-time Alberta Graduate Excellence Scholarship award recipient. Kennedy also holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction from the University of Alberta and is a CSEP-Certified Personal Trainer.
Kennedy has had the unique opportunity to work with patients of all ages, sporting backgrounds, and walks of life in several private practice physiotherapy clinics, at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, and as a researcher in scoliosis rehabilitation.
Kennedy strives to provide comprehensive, tailored physiotherapy sessions with a balance of therapeutic exercise and hands-on treatment that is always informed by the latest research. Patient education will be emphasized throughout every stage of your rehabilitation journey so that you are never left guessing. Kennedy is especially interested in concussion and vestibular physiotherapy, sports rehabilitation, and working with adolescent and youth populations.
Kennedy recently relocated to Victoria from Edmonton, Alberta, and, as a lover of travel, is looking for new adventures on the island. When she’s not focused on physiotherapy, you might find her working as a firefighter fitness tester, coaching junior curlers, or volunteering in cancer care. She enjoys game nights with family and friends and all things outdoors or active – golfing, hiking, snowboarding, curling, Irish dancing, volleyball – you name it!
Connor graduated from the University of Victoria with a degree in Kinesiology before completing his Masters in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario. He is passionate about education in his treatment style so that patients understand their individual treatment plans and can reduce risk of reinjury. He loves getting to know his patients and showing off his extensive patterned shirt collection.
